Yes, it's New Year's Eve again, time to bust out the champagne and make resolutions you probably won't keep.
But this year's different. Cities around the world will host some of the most amazing celebrations ever. Edible confetti raining over London? Check. How about 400,000 pyrotechnics exploding over Dubai? Got that, too.
And let's not forget that the new year also means bizarre new laws.
Here's what to look out for in the coming hours:



1. Taste the rainbow

Why have a fireworks show that only looks good? Revelers in London can stick out their tongues during tonight's extravaganza and enjoy banana-flavored confetti that's choreographed to the fireworks. They'll also see floating oranges drifting through the night sky -- pop them to enjoy a citrusy scent!
Food artists Harry Parr and Sam Bompas have been working on the show for an entire year. They've even made sure their edible treats are kosher, vegan and hypoallergenic.
"We developed a special confetti that's actually biodegradable, and in the rain it will magically dissolve," Parr said. "Even better, it tastes amazing."



2. Dubai does it bigger

Not to be outdone, Dubai -- a city obsessed with superlatives -- will attempt a new world record for the biggest fireworks display near the world's tallest building.
The six-minute show will feature 400,000 pyrotechnics over 400 parts of the Dubai shoreline. That's 100 kilometers (62 miles) of waterfront lighting up.


                                   


If Dubai pulls this off, it'll blow Kuwait's world record out of the water. That record was set last year, when 77,000 fireworks exploded over 64 minutes.
So if you're going to the Dubai show, don't forget your earplugs



3. Have a ball - an 'odd' ball


Sure, New York has a massive sparkly ball they've been dropping for the past century or so. But what other objects can you relinquish to gravity to mark the new year?
In some U.S. cities, it's a fruit. In Honolulu, it's a colossal glowing pineapple. In Atlanta, it's a giant peach.
The North Carolina mountain town of Brasstown prefers a possum -- slowly lowered and then set free.
But Key West, Florida, takes the cake with its drag queen drop.

A Short Preview On Far Cry 3

This all about Far Cry 3. It really an awesome game ever. If you dare face it. Now going to a short overview.

I was soaring above a gorgeous tropical island in a hang-glider when I heard gunfire below. Waaaay down on the road below, a gang of friendly islanders was going toe-to-toe with a band of ruthless pirates. I banked around and dropped in low, landing just inside the treeline. I pulled out my high-tech bow, then crept up to and took down one of the pirates with an arrow before another spotted me. Shouting and gunfire erupted from all sides.

                                     

Forty-five seconds later, burned bodies lay strewn in every direction; a deadly tiger had come roaring out of the jungle, and the grass and trees to my left were ablaze, deadly-hot flames spreading as fast as I could scramble. Cutting my losses, I sprinted toward a cliff overhang, violently jerking my dislocated thumb back into joint as I ran. I swan-dove into the open water a hundred yards below. A crash as I broke the surface, then silence. Sun-rays sliced into the murky depths as I regained my bearings. And that was when I saw the first shark.

That's Far Cry  3 in a nutshell.


Repeat the above encounter five times in the game, and you'll get five different outcomes. Maybe you take out all the bad guys without raising a ruckus. Maybe you stay high up on a hill and blow everyone up using rockets, only to get chomped by a tiger you didn't hear behind you. Maybe your allies win the firefight before you land, and you've got nothing left to do but clean up. Or maybe the fight spills over into an enemy outpost, and before you know it you're up against an army of troops, trained dogs, and helicopters.

Rock legend Lou Reed dies at 71

 Lou Reed, who took rock 'n' roll into dark corners as a songwriter, vocalist and guitarist for the Velvet Underground and as a solo artist, died Sunday, his publicist said. He was 71.

The publicist, Peter Noble, confirmed Reed's death but released no details. Reed had undergone a liver transplant in May, his wife, the musician/performance artist Laurie Anderson, disclosed over the summer.

Reed was a rock pioneer who went from record label songwriter to a member of the short-lived but innovative and influential Velvet Underground. The band and Reed's solo work tackled taboo topics like drug addiction, paranoia and sexual deviancy in songs that were largely spare, muscular and often saturated in feedback.

                                                  

"Lou Reed's influence is one that there are really only a tiny handful of other figures who you can compare to him," said Simon Vozick-Levinson, a senior editor at Rolling Stone.

"He spoke incredibly frankly about the realities of being an artist, being a person who lived life on one's own terms. He didn't prettify things. He didn't sugarcoat things. He showed life as it really is and that's something that made him a true original, and one of our great all-time artists," he said.

Reed, violist/keyboard player John Cale, guitarist Sterling Morrison and drummer Maureen Tucker played their first show as the Velvet Underground in 1965 and soon drew the attention of pop artist Andy Warhol, who became their manager. Rock mythology has it that even though the group sold few albums, everyone who bought one started a band.
